Here’s something you probably didn’t know: The covers of our annual Speed On The Water Year In Review issue are printed at a different facility than the rest of the 196-page magazine, which will ship at the end of this week. Of course, once the covers print the magazines—all 5,000 of them—are assembled and shipped.

That’s happening as you read this.
Here’s something you probably knew: The “People” section of the magazine is our perennial favorite.
Just three of the 10 “People” pages in the seventh annual Speed On The Water 2021 Year In Review magazine—shipping this week. Recognize anyone?
It also happens to be the most difficult. From choosing photos—and in any given year we collect hundreds of “people pics” for Year In Review—to laying out the pages to writing the text that supports it, creating the People section is a long and particularly detailed process.
But the magazine would suffer without it. Much as we enjoy covering the hardware and action of the high-performance boating world, none of it would matter without the many incredible people involved. You are the best part of this job, one we wouldn’t be doing well if we didn’t celebrate you in our Year In Review issue.
In one of many fine moments captured in the Speed On The Water 2021 Year In Review issue, Performance Boat Center’s Myrick Coil and his 12-year-old son, Preston, enjoyed Father’s Day on the water.
