We had no idea what we were getting into when we agreed to chronicle high-performance marine insurance man Devin Wozencraft’s travels to boating events around the country last year. We only knew that Wozencraft would be hauling his 30-foot, outboard-engine-powered Skater Powerboats catamaran to a new event almost every weekend, and that through him we could take our readers there.

We had no idea we’d be culling through thousands of photos taken by the man himself for 10 separate stories we ran on speedonthewater.com throughout the summer. Without question, the volume of photo-editing for what we called—tongue in cheek of course—the “2018 Wozencraft World Tour” feature series was substantial.
But so, too, was the response. Wozencraft’s casual images from his third annual tour resonated with readers around the country and we received nothing but positive feedback about the series.

And so we begin again with our coverage of the 2019 Wozencraft World Tour coverage, starting with his first stop a couple of weeks ago at the Desert Storm Poker Run in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. As usual, Wozencraft was in the thick of things at the event, from sponsoring a photo helicopter and a card stop to exhibiting in the Desert Storm Street Party. But this time around, he also ran his catamaran in the poker run so he was able to deliver on-the-water images.
From Desert Storm, Wozencraft headed directly to the Tickfaw 200 Poker Run in Springfield, La., last weekend. That photo gallery will go live later this week. Until then, enjoy his firsthand perspective from Desert Storm.
