Still for sale by owner Chuck Broaddus, the 40-foot Marine Technology, Inc., Broadco catamaran took the Super Boat International Superboat-Class World Championship in 2014. The boat was torn down and outfitted with the latest generation of MTI’s safety cockpit after its 2015 season-opening barrel-roll in Cocoa Beach, Fla. Broaddus and throttleman Grant Bruggemann ran the boat in the final three races of the year in Key West, Fla., before Broaddus decided to put it up for sale.
“We believe that with the implementation of MTI’s next-generation canopy design and the additional safety components engineered by Grant, it is the safest boat on the racecourse,” said Broaddus in a Nov. 27, 2015 speedonthewater.com article.
Broaddus said he would like to sell the Broadco team’s assets—meaning the cat, its 750-hp Ilmor Marine engines, spare parts, tow vehicle and trailer—as one package. However, he has not ruled out selling individual pieces of equipment to “serious buyers,” and they can reach him at [email protected].
