Winning Ways: Farnsworth Ready for Charity Rides

While claiming the fastest overall speed at three top-speed shootout events in April, June and July in Low Altitude, his turbine-powered 50-foot catamaran from Mystic Powerboats, is quite an accomplishment for Colorado performance boater Win Farnsworth, his most important number of the 2015 boating season will arrive following this weekend’s the 11th annual Casper Boat Club “Super Heroes” Poker Run on Wyoming’s Alcova Reservoir.

Team Farnsworth shows off the poster for this weekend’s Casper Boat Club Poker Run and Charity rides.

That’s when Farnsworth will know how much money was raised between the poker run and the rides he’s planning to provide in his other high-performance catamaran—a DCB M41 Widebody catamaran dubbed Silver Lining, which is powered by twin Mercury Racing 1350 engines.

Farnsworth, who lives part-time in Wyoming, never misses the event, which benefits a charity close to his heart, Jason’s Friends Foundation. And because he’s worked his way into two high-profile boats in the last couple of years, he’s been able to use them to help raise even more money for the foundation. This year he started selling Team Farnsworth shirts featuring both boats at events the team attends and donates every dollar from the sales to the foundation.
