Formerly the Buffalo Poker Run hosted by the Western New York Offshore Powerboat AssociationElite Poker Runs LLC’s Western New York Poker Run opened registration this morning at 9 a.m. Sponsored again by Ontario, Canada-based Double-R Performance, the event is scheduled for Aug. 11-12, the same dates as its predecessor. It also will be held based out of the same venue—Templeton Landing—in Buffalo.

“It’s the same date at the same great venue with the same great people and the same great course,” said Tony Scioli of Elite Poker Runs, who also is organizing the third annual Erie Poker Run (June 23-25) and the second Grand Island Poker Run (in September—final dates to be determined). “The goal is to build on all the amazing things people have experience at the Buffalo Poker Run and make it ‘elite’ with some upgrades.

“I want the run back to the numbers that we got when I was on the WYNOPA board with 100 boats plus sponsor boats,” he added.

Registration for the run, which includes a Friday night dinner party after registration, a Saturday night awards banquet after the run and a commemorative T-shirt for the boat owner/driver is $350. Cost per crew member is $150. Interested participants can register by clicking here.
