Building on the momentum of its COVID-19-modified Rock The Coast and Muskegon Powerboat Weekend events, West Michigan Offshore will produce its Gold Coast Summer Blast happening this Saturday. Based out of Grand Haven, Mich., the August 22 run will follow a format similar to the nonprofit organization’s other events this year.

“The day includes the Full Throttle Run and WMO-Palooza” wrote Roger Zudiema, the outfit’s president, in an email to WMO members. “Each year in August West Michigan Offshore celebrates, as we enjoy the last weeks of summer. These runs and happenings are informal with no set marina or accommodations. Please make plans that best suit you.”
Sign-ups for the Gold Coast Summer Blast are still open. Zudiema is encouraging would-be participants to sign up as soon as possible, even if their plans are not final.
Participants will depart Grand Haven Marina at approximately 11:30 a.m. for noon “lunch on the deck” at the Muskegon Beach Restaurant. The post-lunch Summer Blast/Spring Lake WMO-Palooza will follow and is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“Enjoy live music with Jedi Mind Trip along the shores of Spring Lake as the Sandy Gentry ReMax Lakeshore Team provides a live band at the Gentry residence,” Zudiema added in in his email. “Information will be sent to RSVP members on location information.”
Next up on the WMO schedule is its Fall Fun Run. Dates have yet to be announced.
