Since the inception of the Shootout On The Strip, a mile-long celebration of high-performance hardware from powerboats to pontoon boats that kicks off the annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri, Waves and Wheels has been the happening’s biggest booster. The full-service, new Doug Wright Powerboats dealer, rigging/fiberglass/upholstery/paint shop, marina and powerboat storage outfit in Osage Beach has been the title sponsor of the Wednesday night happening on the road to Bagnell Dam for longer than company founder and owner Justin Wagner can remember.

The Shootout On The Strip celebration is set for Wednesday, August 25, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Lake of the Ozarks Shootout competition begins Saturday, August 28, and runs through Sunday, August 29.
“I honestly can’t recall how long we’ve been doing it,” Wagner said, then laughed. “But since the very first Shoot On The Strip, we’ve been dedicated to bringing a ‘show of our own’ to the event. It’s a super-fun way to engage everyone in town for the Shootout and we always go all out.”
But this year, Wagner explained, the Waves and Wheels display will be even more extravagant than usual. In addition to its usual wall of sound exhibit produced by various boats and land-based vehicles with Bluave Marine Audio component-built custom stereo systems, the company will exhibit two new Waves and Wheels-finished pleasure catamarans from Doug Wright Powerboats. Wagner and his crew also will display the latest Waves and Wheels-customized PlayCraft pontoon boat, which Wagner acquired as usual from locally based PlayCraft dealer Marty’s Marine.

Owned by Justin Wagner, Waves and Wheels has been the title sponsor of the Shootout on the Strip for years.
“We are going to display a couple of new Waves and Wheels-edition Doug Wright catamarans with hulls and decks from the original builder, Doug Wright Powerboats in Melbourne (Fla.),” Wagner said. “We are going to have a 36-footer and a 42-footer on display and they will be spectacular. Between those two beauties and the Waves and Wheels-customized PlayCraft, and all of our custom-stereo-equipped motorized vehicles, we are going to have our biggest and most elaborate Shootout On The Strip display yet.”

This time around, Wagner and company will showcase two of its own Waves and Wheels-customized pleasure cats from Doug Wright Powerboats.
As Bluave Marine Audio is the company’s own custom stereo component line, Waves and Wheels will deliver its usual extensive display—picture a wall of sound if you haven’t ever seen Wagner’s exhibit and you won’t be far off—of the latest Bluave equipment.
“It’s going to be a great year for the Shootout On The Strip,” Wagner said. “We can’t wait to showcase everything we do, especially as one of three official Doug Wright dealers in the country, at Waves and Wheels.”
