Against the largest Superboat Unlimited-class fleet in Super Boat International history, the Wake Effects team of rookie driver Rusty Rahm and veteran throttleman Jeff Harris piloted a 48-foot Marine Technology, Inc., catamaran to a 2016 world championship. That feat highlights the newest teaser video—dubbed “New Kid In Town” from producer JM Associates for the upcoming the three-part NBC Sports television program on the 2016 SBI Worlds in Key West, Fla.

Wake Effects bested the CMS, Miss GEICO, CRC/Sunlight Supply, Lucas Oil/Silverhook, Maritimo and American Ethanol/Cat Can Do teams to take home the Superboat Unlimited-class crown. The two-and-a-half-minute video captures the energy and enthusiasm of the team during the 2016 season from its Lake Race debut in Central Missouri to its outstanding performance in Key West. It includes interviews with MTI’s Randy Scism and Rahm.
Said Rahm in a Speed On The Water 2016 Year-End digital magazine article, after the Key West event. “I’m speechless, I really am. Everything came together perfectly for us on the final day. I still can’t believe it. I didn’t expect to win it with (fellow MTI stable-mates) Bob Bull and Randy Scism here. I was optimistic that our team could go 1-2 overall, but I really didn’t think we’d be No. 1.”
