Starting tomorrow and running through Sunday, Jan. 31, Tinus Marine in Oconomowoc, Wis., is hosting an in-house boat show featuring boat show incentives, special financing offers, daily giveaways, appetizers, custom cocktails and more. Of course the dealership, which has been in business for 73 years, is going to have a variety of new boats and watercraft on display, including the two newest models from Checkmate Powerboats, a 2400 BRX and a 2000 BRX.

“This is our first time doing an in-house show like this, but when the Milwaukee show got cancelled, we thought about other options we had and decided to try to do our own thing,” said Tim Tinus, the second-generation family member who runs things with his brother, Steve. “We’ve done open houses and such, but nothing to this extent before. In reality, this might end up being better for sales because the boaters who come to visit will have our undivided attention and we will have their undivided attention. We’re excited to see how it all goes.

“We’re also excited to show off our first two new Checkmate models starting tomorrow,” he continued. “Working with Pete (Caldwell), Billy (Moore), Clint (Garant) and Denny (Backis) has been great so far. They’re building excellent boats with improved quality thanks to the all-composite construction. I can already see this relationship is going to do nothin but pay dividends.”

Tinus, who has a few more Checkmate models on order, said he can’t wait to hear what the company’s customers think of the new 2400 BRX, which is powered by a single Mercury Racing Verado 400R engines, and the 2000 BRX, which is powered by a single Mercury Marine Pro XS 175 engines.
