Thunder On Cocoa Beach: Schedule And Broadcast

With the race No. 1 of Thunder On Cocoa Beach, the first race of the Union Internationale Motonautique Class 1 World Championship Series and the second race of the American Power Boat Association Offshore National Championship Series less than 24 hours away, fans in town for the Florida contest have plenty of viewing options on the famed strand. But for those didn’t travel to Cocoa Beach for the event, both days of action will livestreamed on the P1 Offshore Facebook page.

Six Class 1 teams will take the green flag on Sunday. Photos by Pete Boden copyright Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

As the Cocoa Beach pits continue to fill and the boat count stands at 63 registered entries spread across 13 classes.

Here’s a quick look at the race schedule:

1 p.m.—Bracket Classes 700, 600, 500 and class 3X races.
2 p.m.—Class 1 qualifying.
2:45 p.m.—Super Stock race.

The livestream broadcast will begin 20 minutes before each. Offshore racing is a complicated sport with weather, sea and sea-life conditions often affecting start times. Look for updates to the schedule as they become available on the P1 Offshore Facebook page.
