Offshore racing fans looking forward to the Powerboat P1-produced Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix in Southwest Florida will have something to prime them for this weekend’s action in Southwest Florida. The first of two programs from Thunder On Cocoa Beach, the season-opener of the Union Internationale Motonautique Class 1 World Championship Series and the second race of the American Power Boat Association Offshore National Championship Series, will air Friday, June 30, at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. EST.

The Friday evening program will present highlights from the Class 1 contest, which saw Huski Ice Spritz take the checkered flag, the Super Cat race in which M CON/Monster Energy claimed first place and Mod V competition where LSB/Hurricane of Awesomeness ran away from the pack for the win.
The 30-minute program will air again on Saturday, July 1, at 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Air-times for the programs covering the Super Stock, 450R Factory Stock and Bracket-class program have not been released.
At present, 58 teams are registered for the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix. The action starts Saturday with Super Stock- and Bracket-class action as well as pole-position qualifying for Class 1. The remainder of the fleet—Class 1, Super Cat, 450R Factory Stock, Mod V and additional Bracket classes will compete Sunday.
