The Wozencraft World Tour Continues

Dubbed the Wozencraft World Tour in 2018 by yours truly—not terribly clever but the best I had at the moment—California-based insurance man Devin Wozencraft’s tradition of hauling his 30-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran to events around the country is coming back this year. His annual trek is boots-on-the-ground, guerrilla marketing in its purest form, but his favorite place to be is on the water anyway.

Worn out as he often gets with the travel, he loves it. Wozencraft is a gregarious dude by nature. He simply enjoys people.

Plus, who knows? He may even buy you a cold adult beverage after all the boats are tied up at the docks. And while he’s anything but a sales-grinder type, he’s all ears if you want to talk about high-performance powerboat insurance or finance.

For this reporter, it’s just good to see and hang out with another friend from home—one who happens to be a longtime supporter of speedonthewater.com—while I’m on the road. Our paths cross several times a year.

“My road-show preparation actually started today with today with basic maintenance on my 2005, Wozencraft Insurance-wrapped Ford Excursion, getting all of my road and safety supplies organized and then packing up to pick up the boat in St. Petersburg (Fla.) where my Skater is currently stored,” said Wozencraft. “Then I will then make the eight-hour trek to Orange Beach (Ala). After the event, my good friend and client Scott Favre is letting me keep the Skater at the wharf in Orange Beach for a break, and I will be flying back to California.

“A few weeks later, I will be flying back to Orange Beach with my daughter and heading to Lake South Carolina for the Hartwell Lake Charity Run,” he added.

Here’s a quick look at when and where you can catch him this season.
