Testing to Resume on Sterling 1700-Powered Skater 388 in January

Testing and final dial-in of the long-awaited Skater 388 catamaran with the first pair of turbocharged 1,700-hp engines from Sterling Performance will begin again in January. According to David Wade of David Wade Marine, the Baton Rouge, La., shop handling the boat, a damaged No. 6 drive, which stalled the project, is being repaired by Jeff Hopper at Legendary Marine and should be returned to Wade next week.

“We’ll starting testing again after the holidays,” said Wade. “Then we’ll have Mike D’Anniballe (the owner of Sterling Performance) come down to finish dialing in the engines.”
