After the final touches are put on the latest 2016 model Mystic Powerboats 4200 luxury center console this weekend, the triple Verado 350 outboard-engine-powered boat is going to be sea-trialed near the Mystic facility in DeLand, Fla., early next week. Owner Ron Szolack is planning to pilot it in the Florida Powerboat Club’s upcoming Key West Poker Run in November.

Szolack, who organizes the annual Skater Fest event in Michigan, is one of several high-profile performance-boat owners including Win Farnsworth and Aldo Waters who have purchased a Mystic 4200 since the prototypes were introduced at the 2015 Miami International Boat Show. (The model was recently renamed to better reflect its true specifications including its 43-foot length overall according to Scott Sjogren of Shogren Performance Marine, Mystic’s global dealer in Gurnee, Ill.) Well known in go-fast boating circles for selling new boats almost as fast as he can buy them, Szolack, who has a winter home in Florida, said he plans to keep his new center console awhile.
“I’m going to keep this one at least through the winter,” he said. “I need something to run up and down the Intracoastal.”
