For their ongoing efforts in raising awareness for cancer research and treatment, South Florida-based FB Marine Group principals Randy and Kim Sweers, as well as their son, Chase, will be honored by the American Cancer Society during the organization’s Broward County Celebration Gala May 5 at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa in Fort Lauderdale. The Sweers family will be the event’s sole honorees.
Kim, Chase and Randy Sweers will be honored next month at an American Cancer Society Gala Celebration.
The family’s connection to the disease—and ongoing commitment to finding a cure—are deeply personal.
“Cancer hit home when Randy and I both lost a parent to the disease,” said Kim Sweers. “We were stunned when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, and Randy’s dad recently survived colon cancer. Since then, we have made it our family’s mission in life to find a cure for this horrible disease.”
The Sweers family’s commitment to fighting and finding a cure for cancer is evident on its MTI raceboat.
Sweers and her husband are encouraging people to buy tickets to the gala event, as well as make donations or get involved through event sponsorship opportunities.
“With your support, we will lead the fight for a world without cancer,” she said.
