SV Offshore Snags New Sponsor

Offshore racing fans with an eye for detail, especially those of the Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats variety, will notice some new livery on the SV Offshore raceboat today at Offshore At The Ozarks-Cat Edition in Central Missouri. Running a 39-foot Outerlimits catamaran powered by Factory Billet engines, team co-owners Vinnie Diorio and Simon Prevost have secured LIQUI MOLY for this weekend’s contests.

What’s more, they will retain the sponsorship though the 2021 offshore racing season.

According to a press release from the team’s new sponsor, LIQUI MOLY is “a globally renowned manufacturer of premium quality lubricants, motor oils, additives, vehicle care products, chemical repair tools, service products, glues and sealants.” The company is “expanding its new marine line of high-performance lubricants and will utilize SV Offshore to promote and prove their different marine products in real-time race conditions.”

“We are very excited to be partnering with LIQUI MOLY, we have been working hard to build our relationship specifically with LIQUI MOLY because we know they have the best oils and lubricants available,” said Prevost, who drives the 39-footer.

Headquartered in Germany, LIQUI MOLY GmbH has a Canadian subsidiary serving Canada and the United States. The oil and additive manufacturer enjoys “a strong presence throughout professional motorsports,” the release stated. In the U.S., the company supports Turner Motorsports in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and also is a sponsor of the MotoAmerica motorcycle racing series.

“Knowing their products are utilized by some of the best teams in professional racing and being put through extreme scenarios; we knew they would be a great fit for our offshore powerboat program,” Diorio said in the release.

“Supercat is a cool series and the professional approach of SV Offshore impressed us,” said Sebastian Zelger, the chief executive officer of LIQUI MOLY USA and Canada. “Thanks to our cooperation we will increase the awareness of our marine product line and show people that we can do more than just two and four wheels.”

Diorio and Prevost practiced yesterday in their 39-footer.

Today’s Supercat races are scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. At press time, Diorio and Prevost had not decided if they will compete later this month at the Offshore Powerboat Association World Championships in Morehead City, N.C.
