With just 75 slots available and the Lake of the Ozarks area hotter than the Central Missouri summer sun, the upcoming Support Our Troops Poker Run is already getting a lot of support itself. The event, which is being sponsored by Big Thunder Marine, a full-service Fountain and Donzi dealer in Osage Beach, is on its way to being sold out.

Better still, backing for the June 25-26 happening, which raises money for H.E.R.O.E.S Care—the event’s benefitting veteran’s services charity—is coming in strong. The organizers have received $11,250 in sponsorship donations so far.
At present, sponsors for the longstanding, beloved event include:
• Poly Lift Boat Lifts
• WIA Marine Insurance
• Bear Bottom Resort|
• Coconuts Caribbean Beach Bar and Grill
• DockWorks LLC
• Frankie and Louie’s Watefront Grill
• Neon Taco
• Paradise Restaurant and Bar
• Jay Enn Corporation
“We were honored to be a part of the run last year and raise over $31,000 for such a good cause,” said Jeremy Anderson, the general manager of Big Thunder Marine. “To see the way that troops responded was so great, and we are looking forward to another fine event.”
The owner of Michigan-based Jay Enn Corporation—as well as a head-turning 46-foot Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats catamaran—Burton Kirsten said he’s delighted to be returning to the event. Jay Enn creates “precision tooling solution for the aerospace, military and operations industries” so the Support Our Troops Poker Run is particularly dear to him.
“Last year, we put our guest-veteran in the boat, buckled him in and had a riot,” Kirsten said.
