Attendees of Super Cat Fest who opt out of joining the impressive spectator fleet at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Aug. 26-27 in Central Missouri will have a big-screen viewing option on Saturday and Sunday at the Camden On The Lake Resort, the host venue for the annual celebration of high-performance catamarans. With support from noted performance-boating community members John Woodruff and Win Farnsworth, Super Cat Fest producer Alvin Heathman has arranged for a 12-by-8-foot “video wall” to be set up in the resort’s pool area.

The large-format screen display will carry the live television broadcast from the two-day top-speed contest on the three-quarters-of-a-mile course.
“The video wall will bring a little something to the event for Super Cat Fest participants and spectators who might want to have a ‘Shootout’ pool party,” said Heathman. “A lot of people have watched the Shootout from the resort in years past. We’re just giving them a bigger viewing option. We’re going to go through a trial run with it sometime next week.”
Saturday’s television broadcast will begin before the competition, which runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Saturday’s practice session runs from 9 a.m. to noon.) Sunday’s competition is set to start a 9 a.m. and finish at 4 p.m. and will be followed by the traditional Shootout awards ceremony.
