Sunsation Reaches Milestone With ‘Fastest’ 32 CCX No. 100

Unveiled at the 2015 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in South Florida, the Sunsation Boats 32 CCX was the perfect addition to the company’s Center Console Xtreme line that then-included 29- and 34-foot models. Since then, the Algonac, Mich.,builder has added a 40-footer to the series.

Sunsation 32 CCX No. 100 was delivered to a new Performance Boat Center customer.

As witnessed by Sunsation’s recent accomplishment of delivering hull No. 100 last week to Performance Boat Center in Osage Beach, Mo., the 32 CCX has been a hit since its debut. And with a reported top speed of 85.4 mph, the Mercury Racing 450R outboard engine-powered 32-footer is Sunsation’s fastest 32 CCX offering to date.

The boat went to a first-time Sunsation and Performance Boat Center buyer.

“The 32 CCX offers tremendous bang for the buck,” said Brett Manire, who co-owns the multi-brand full-service dealership with Mark Waddington. “It rides great, is fun to drive, has tons of seating and offers many of the features and benefits that the ‘big’ center consoles have.

“It’s amazing how far the boat has come,” he continued. “Joe Schaldenbrand and the Sunsation team have listened to all our input and made changes from the front of the boat all the way back.”

The 32 CCX is Sunsation’s top-selling model.

In a fun and informative, six-minute video produced to celebrate the 100-boat milestone for the 32 CCX, Schaldenbrand and Miller discussed the model, the evolution of the CCX line and the company’s high-performance V-bottom sportboat roots.

“You’ll find features in this boat that you’ll find in our 34 and 40, and to accommodate that in a 32-foot boat was quite an amazing feat,” Schaldenbrand says in the video. “When we came out and introduced the 32, Performance Boat Center came out—Mark and Brett and I believe Myrick (Coil) was with them—and they said they like the boat, they like the product, they like the way it handles. They’re going to market the boat and they’re going to sell a lot of them, so be prepared. And that’s exactly what they did. Over the past four years, Performance Boat Center has sold more than 50 of them.”

Adds Miller, “The only issue we have right now is keeping up with demand. It’s our most popular boat. Dealers are kind of waiting for product all the time. They usually sell it before it hits the showroom floor because the demand is so high. We have been working on production engineering to be able to build the boats faster.”
