Sunsation Powerboats is continuing to expand its dealer network with the addition of Shipyard Marine, which has locations in Green Bay and Oshkosh, Wis. The news was announced earlier today in a press release from the Algonac, Mich., center console builder. Since going into business in 1998, the dealership has represented an array of high-performance powerboat brands, according to the release.
Thanks to performance-oriented center consoles fueling Sunsation’s best-ever sales year the company is continuing to expand its dealer network.
“As the market continues to evolve and boaters’ needs grow, we’ve expanded our inventory to include both luxury performance and recreational watercraft,” said Andy Howitt, the owner of Shipyard Marine, in the release. “That’s one of the main reasons we’ve joined with Sunsation. The company has a longtime high-performance history with their offshore sportboat models and they are now bringing this same DNA to their popular center consoles.
“Not only are they fast, but the reliability, quality of workmanship and high-tech designs are what our customers are looking for,” he continued. “Plus, when you deal with Sunsation it becomes both a professional and personal relationship with the owners of the company.”
The addition of another dealer comes at a perfect time for Sunsation, according to Joe Schaldenbrand, who co-owns the company with his brother, Wayne, and their partner Jared Morris.
“We have more boats on order than we’ve had in the history of the company,” said Schaldenbrand in a telephone interview this morning. “And with the new dealers we’ve taken on we are expecting to have a banner sales year next year. It’s amazing how nice it is to build these boats—the CCX performance center consoles go through production smoothly, they go out the door to the customers and there’s almost no warranty work.
“The more we get these boats out there, the easier the sales are,” he continued. “I don’t want to say that I just sit here and take order, but I used to work customers for days and weeks—and even years—in the past. Now, I may talk to them once or twice on the phone before the deal is done. Then they walk into the dealership and the deal is closed.”
