A perfect Sunday for me would be heading out in our E-Ticket deck boat as a family with my wife, Julie, and our 11-year-old twins, Lukas and Leilani. Generally we like to launch the boat and do a parade lap, so to speak, through the iconic Lake Havasu Channel and under the London Bridge. From there we head down the lake toward the dam and find a little cove to drop the anchor and hang out.

My kids love to swim—they can stay in the water for hours. We usually do some exploring around the beach and climb around a little to get some different pictures of the lake and our boat. My daughter loves to make sandcastles so we keep a big bag of sand toys on the boat, and of course we have the snorkeling gear.

Traditionally after a few hours we head over to get a late lunch at Havasu Landing Resort and Casino. My wife often takes $20 to go play the nickel slots and then we take off to find another cove to hang out for a couple hours before bringing the boat back to the launch ramp.

The kids always help with cleaning up the boat and, since we’re all usually pretty tired from a day on the water, we like to stop at Black Bear Diner for dinner.
