During the boating season on the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri, Performance Boat Center’s Brett Manire treasures his Sunday Fun Days. Manire, who co-owns the multi-line go-fast powerboat and yacht dealership, service center and storage facility, doesn’t have much “personal” time to hit the water with friends and family from Monday through Saturday when the boating season is booming. So Sundays are his best shot.
Sundays present the best chance for getting on the water during the boating season for Brett Manire and his wife, Mackenzie.
“I usually spend my Saturdays finishing up whatever needs to be done from the week,” he said. “It’s just too hard to do everything and get out on the water on Saturday. If I do have any free time at the end of the day, I spend it getting a boat ready for Sunday. I like to be heading out around 11 a.m. and getting back around 5 or 6 p.m.
Last weekend, Manire had a particularly enjoyable and unseasonably warm Sunday Fun Day by blending boating with friends and family in a hardtop Formula 400SS—a recent trade-in at Performance Boat Center—and NFL playoff football.
“We left Performance Boat Center on the Formula and stopped by a few friends’ houses and then went to Camden on the Lake Resort to watch the Broncos play New England,” he said. “At half-time, we got a little restless so we went up to Dave Scott’s penthouse at the resort and watched the rest of the game. After the game was over, we rode back in the Formula to the Redhead Lakeside Grill at Performance Boat Center and watched the Panthers take on the Cardinals.

“Two football games and a great day on the water,” he added. “It was a perfect Sunday Fun Day.”
