With the 12th annual Boyne Thunder Poker Run weekend underway, we couldn’t resist bringing you the first of many Pete Boden images to come from the Michigan event. Say what you will about Smart Phone cameras—they get the basic job done—they’re no match for a professional photographer with high-quality equipment.
Amazing hardware—including this stunning Skater catamaran—is already in town for this weekend’s Boyne Thunder Poker Run (click image to enlarge). Photo courtesy/copyright Pete Boden/Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.
This year’s festivities kicked off with the traditional party at the top of the Boyne Mountain ski hill—the party has grown into one of the highlights of the weekend for the organizers and attendees who arrive early—and continues today with official registration and a lunch run/fun for those who signed up early. Tonight’s street party and display in Boyne City is sure to be filled with exotic hardware of the go-fast boat and automobile kind.
And while the show would go on regardless at it did last year, the weather forecast for the area today and tomorrow is looking spectacular with highs in the low- to mid-80s and sunny skies (with a few clouds in the mix). That should please everyone, particularly Boden who had to battle the elements last year.
Editor’s note: Look for coverage of the Boyne Thunder Poker Run on speedonthewater.com throughout the weekend. A feature on the event also will appear in the upcoming issue of Speed On The Water digital magazine, which will go live next week.
