When the Florida Powerboat Club pulls into Key West, Fla., early next month for its annual season-ending poker run, Crypto, an exquisite Outerlimits SV 43 painted by Stephen Miles Design in Owensboro, Ky., will be part of the fleet. The 43-footer, which is powered by Mercury Racing 1550/1350 engines, will make its public debut at the event.

“The owner is an awesome dude,” said Stephen Miles. “And he’s kind of coached me along the way with crypto currencies.”
But for Miles and his dedicated crew, work will continue full speed before he heads to Key West to support his customers. And there is plenty of work to do. Current and near-future Stephen Miles Design graphics projects include:
•An MTI 340X sport catamaran to be color-matched to its owner’s new larger catamaran from another builder.
•A new Deep Impact 399 center console.
•An Outerlimits SL 50 and an Outerlimits SL 52.
•A 24-foot sport catamaran heading to a California based client.
•A Nor-Tech 390 center console and a Nor-Tech 450 center console.
•A 35-foot Cobalt runabout—Miles’ personal boat.
“Both of the Nor-Tech projects came through clients of Michael Knoblock at American Custom Marine,” said Miles. “I have to give Mike a big shout-out. He’s been great to me and great to work with.”
In advance of its Key West debut, overall images of the Crypto Outerlimits SV 43 are being kept strictly under wraps (click image to enlarge). But here’s a sneak peek at some of the SMD graphics deck detail.
The talented airbrush artist’s reach in Key West will extend beyond the poker run fleet and onto the Super Boat International Offshore World Championship racecourse, thanks to the Stephen Miles Design-dressed, Superboat Vee-class Marker 17 Marine Outerlimits SV 29 owned by veteran offshore racer and current V-bottom kilometer speed-record-holder Brian Forehand. As he has since he reentered competition this season, Forehand will be joined in the cockpit by Vinnie Diorio, a longtime Miles client and close friend.
“I love the relationships I’ve been built with my clients, boat builders and dealers,” he added. “Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do every day and have the opportunity to go places like Key West, but the relationships are the best part of this business.”
