St. Clair River Classic Organizers Release 2022 Dates

Getting an early start on next year, the organizers of the St. Clair River Classic—a longtime racer-and fan-favorite contest on the Offshore Powerboat Association schedule—have set the dates for the 2022 event. The St. Clair, Mich., race weekend is scheduled for July 28-31.

Cancelled in response to pandemic concerns in 2019, the event returned this year as the fourth race in the second-year American Power Boat Association Offshore Championship Series. The contest attracted more than 60 teams.

According to a press release from the locally based Blue Water Offshore Racing Association, which handles on-site organizational duties for the event, the organization reshaped the event with “new partnerships and many local sponsors” this year.

“The support from our community and businesses was amazing,” said Steve Brunner, the president of the Blue Water group, in the release. “The  Blue Water Offshore Racing Association is truly grateful and looking forward to producing another fun filled race weekend in 2022 for race fans.”

Next year, the St. Clair Chamber of Commerce will partner with the Blue Water Offshore Racing Association to “provide a full entertainment schedule” and will work closely with vendors at the waterfront venue, according to the release.
