Set for Thursday, November 7 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Sandbar Sports Grill in Key West, Fla., the annual Speedonthewater.com/Offshoreonly.com Key West Bash and Charity Auction just found more much-needed real estate. Thanks to Race World Offshore head Larry Bleil, tiny Greene Street, which is home to the party venue, will be closed between Duval Street and Ann Street during the party.
Closing Greene Street this year for the Speedonthewater.com/Offshoreonly.com Key West Bash will open up space inside and outside the Sandbar Sport Grill.
That will come as welcome news to party-goers as space inside the Sandbar has become increasingly tight as the popularity of the annual celebration, which benefits the Samuel’s House organization in Key West, has skyrocketed during the years.
The venue is a short ride-share—both Uber and Lyft operate in Key West—to the Key West Amphitheatre, where country music star Lee Brice and other artists will be performing from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Brice is scheduled to take the stage at 7:30 p.m.) Hosted by Rams Head Presents—Key West and Lee Brice, the concert is part of the Race World Offshore’s V.I.P. packages for the week in Key West, though tickets can be purchased separately.
Though the events do have conflicting schedules, the organizers of the Speedonthewater.com/Offshoreonly.com Bash still are expecting their largest turnout ever based on response so far.
Said Speedonthewater.com co-publisher Jason Johnson, “We’ll be going from 7 p.m. till 10 p.m. and everyone is welcome. Not everyone makes it to concerts on time and not everyone stays at them the whole time. And of course there are people who will want to be at the party from start to finish. It’s always great to have options, and we’re delighted to see a big act coming to Key West that night.”
