Speedonthewater.com Exclusive: Cigarette-AMG 41’ SD GT3 In Action

Courtesy of performance-boat enthusiast John Woodruff, photographer Pete Boden hitched a ride on Windship—Woodruff’s Jet Ranger well-known helicopter that matches his 48-foot MTI catamaran of the same name—to capture the new Cigarette-AMG 41’ SD GT3 performance center console in action this afternoon on Biscayne Bay.

“It was quick sortie,” said Boden. “I only had about 15 or 20 minutes to shoot and I had to shoot out of the eight-by-eight-inch window and I only had one lens—I wasn’t really prepared for a helicopter shoot.

“But I have to thank John Woodruff for the opportunity,” he added. “Any time you can get up in the air and shoot, it’s fun.”

Boden coordinated the shoot with Skip Braver of Cigarette Racing Team and Bud Lorow, who drove the boat with several Cigarette models on board.

“It will go faster, but through propellers we’ve limited the speed on the boat to 100 mph,” said Braver. “We’re not into the ‘hot rod’ thing. This boat is designed to get you home at 70 mph in rough water with no problem.”
