Though the proceeds raised during the 12th annual Speed On The Water Key West Bash and Charity Auction last week fell short by history-based expectations, the event raised more than $67,000 for its nonprofit charities. The money raised was split evenly between AHEC Health Centers Keys and Samuel’s House.

The Speed On The Water affair raised $100,000 in 2023 and 2024. Matching donations upped the total to $200,000 in both years.
Still, the money raised last Thursday evening will do good in Key West and throughout the Florida Keys.
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity and support shown by everyone involved,” said Michelle Nevel of AHEC Health Centers Keys. “The funds raised will make a huge impact right here in our community, helping us to provide children’s medical and dental care throughout the Keys and supporting women and children in need at Samuel’s House.
“We are truly honored to have been chosen as a beneficiary of this outstanding event,” she continued. “We deeply appreciate the countless hours, energy, and passion your team put into making it such a success, as well as the generosity of the racing community for the amazing auction items donated. Your partnership helps us continue our mission tokeep keys kids healthy and strengthen the community we all love.
