Spoke with Stu Jones, founder of the Florida Powerboat Club, earlier this week. He was just getting caught up in his Pompano Beach, Fla., office, having spent the better part of last week in Key West for the annual poker run FPA puts on during the Super Boat International Key West Offshore World Championships.

I actually called Jones to ask for a few photos of the run, which had almost 150 boats participating, to fill out my story, “The Big Picture: Go-Fast Events You Must Catch,” which posted on Boats.com earlier this week. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the photos in time for that story—I used my own “stock” stuff—but I’m putting them up here for you to check out.

For most of us who don’t live in warm-weather climates, this is a close as we’ll get to performance-boating until spring. Enjoy the photos—and many thanks to Stu Jones.
