At his home base in the suburbs of Chicago for just one day before he’s back on the road to deliver another Mystic Powerboats M4200 luxury center console, Scott Sjogren sent us the latest photos of the deck tooling for the new M3800. The first hull for the 38-footer was produced late last month.
“The 38 is going to look really different than the 42,” said Sjogren. “I wouldn’t say I was ‘concerned’ that they would look too much alike, but I wondered how close in appearance they’d be. The 38’s deck has a very sleek look to it. It’s sporty. It looks fast when it’s sitting still. The deck tooling is almost done and the tooling for the top is getting close.

“The first deck should be done in May, and then we’ll be testing in June,” he added. “We should start delivering boats in late summer or early fall.”
