Shot-Skis And Shuffle Board To Top Kuttawa Auction Item List

An ambitious guy with a giant heart, Stephen Miles is hoping to set another record at the Kuttawa Cannonball Run, which is set for June 3-5. A pair of shot-skis painted the by the talented powerboat graphics man—one dressed in Stephen Miles Design graphics and another themed with the Speed On The Water logo—fetched $21,000 during the Saturday night charity auction in last year’s Kentucky-based event.

Using a design he created, Stephen Miles is hand-painting a half-size shuffleboard game to be auctioned off after the Saturday night dinner during the 2022 Kuttawa Cannonball Run.

Sticking to that recipe for fundraising success, Miles has two more hand-crafted shot-skis in the works for this year’s auction. But with a little help from his friend Chris Humphrey, who like Miles has a houseboat in Kuttawa Harbor Marina, has something else coming—a Speed On The Water-dressed shuffle board.

“Chris suggested doing one—he actually makes them,” said Miles, who is one of the organizers of the event. “I’m going to paint it and it will have speedontherwater.com, Mercury Racing and Stephen Miles Design represented.

“Because no one could transport it if it were a full-size shuffle board, we’re making it about half-size,” he added.

Auction item donations are still being accepted for the event, which last year raised more than $50,000 for local charities. Would-be benefactors can reach out to the Kuttawa happening organizers by clicking here.

Will a new pair of shot-skis created by Miles break the $21,000 Kuttawa Cannonball Run charity auction record set last year?

Currently, there are more than 100 boats registered for the event. Registration is still open.
