In recognition of the one-year anniversary of the passing Robert “JR” Noble, one of offshore powerboat racing’s greatest benefactors and ambassadors, Super Boat International is launching a tribute video today that honors the well-known, respected and beloved offshore racer. Produced by JM Associates, the three-minute video is one of several running in advance of the upcoming three-part NBC Sports television program chronicling the 2016 SBI Offshore World Championships in Key West, Fla.

The touching tribute blends a montage of still images and video segments celebrating Noble as an unfailing supportive and genuine member of the offshore racing community. It includes interviews with offshore racers Grant Bruggemann (Noble’s longtime throttleman and team manager) Billy Mauff, Randy Scism, Scott Begovich, Chris Cox, Noble’s son, Jake (who raced the 2016 season in his father’s honor) and Marc Granet.

Says Mauff of his longtime friend and competitor Noble in the video: “He’s my angel, that’s what he is. He’s actually my angel. So every time I’m out there, he’s watching out for me—he’s watching his son, he’s watching me. He means a lot to the sport. He ain’t never going to be forgotten.”
