Offshore racing fans who want to catch all six Super Boat International events live online this season from the comfort of their own homes will have that opportunity. According to SBI representative Rodrick Cox, the organization plans to live stream all its races this year, including the Pensacola (tape-delayed in 2014) and Marathon (new this season), Fla.-based events.

“We’re excited about this year’s live stream—I’m actually working on it right now,” said Cox via telephone this morning. “We are hoping to add some commercial content to our online programming, and we should have some sponsorship information on that soon. We will still have Stan Lane, our longtime color guy, handling the broadcast.
“Our goal is to have five cameras at each race to provide different vantage points,” he added. “We are always looking to improve the product and add new content to the show.”
Available through the livestream site, each online broadcast go begin 15 minutes before each race, with “audio soon to follow,” according to Cox. Viewers who register through the livestream site can participate in real-time online chat during each event. The site also will archive the action from each race— currently there are three years worth of SBI racing streams archived on the site. Cox said that SBI would like to add segments/interviews with notable offshore racers—current and former—to each live online broadcast. (Interested individual should contact him through SBI.) SBI’s livestream broadcasts will begin with the season-opener May 15-17 in Cocoa Beach, Fla.
