Representatives from Super Boat International, STIHL Incorporated and sports programming specialists JM Associates are scheduled to meet during the SBI 2015 season-opener in Cocoa Beach, Fla., to discuss and outline options and funding requirements with race teams for upcoming broadcasts on NBC Sports. The news was announced earlier today on the SBI website, as well as in a press release from the organization.

A television show from the 2014 SBI World Championships in Key West, Fla., aired on NBC Sports in February and, according to SBI, reached more than 200,000 households. The show was presented by STIHL Inc., and sponsored by STIHL Inc. and Superboat-class offshore racer J.R. Noble. JM Associates produced the show.

The goal for the 2015 SBI season is for a series of shows to air on NBC Sports.

“We are looking forward to Cocoa Beach and, sharing with the race teams, the options for television programming this year,” said John Carbonell, the president of SBI, in the release. “With many of the teams inquiring about possible sponsorship and advertising costs for this year, we are fortunate to have very experienced people like STIHL Inc. and JM spearheading programming efforts for Super Boat, race teams and their fans.”

Roger Phelps, the promotional communications manager for STIHL, will attend the Cocoa Beach event. Phelps will meet with teams interested in television programming for this year.

“We’re getting the final costs put together to make a presentation at the drivers meeting and then meet individually with teams and sponsors throughout the weekend,” said Phelps. “There has been great feedback on the first show and we want to continue the momentum. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in Cocoa Beach.”
