Registration Open For Atlantic City Powerboat Rally

With participation packages from $100 to $500, registration opened this morning for the June 19-21 Atlantic City Powerboat Rally organized and produced by the New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club. Formerly known as the Atlantic City Poker Run, the event, which celebrates its 18th anniversary this year, is part of the third annual Atlantic City Festival of Speed that includes the rally, a day of powerboat rides for members of the Wounded Warrior Project, an exotic car show, an Offshore Powerboat Association-sanctioned offshore race and multiple social activities through the weekend.

The run begins on Barnegat Bay in Toms River and finishes at the Atlantic City Golden Nugget Resort and Casino, the host venue for the event. Participation is limited to 50 boats and the NJPPC has negotiated special weekend lodging rates at the resort for the first 50 members who register. (Interested participants must register through the club.) Three starts for different fleets—”Ocean,” “Fast Running Inside” and “Easy Cruise Inside”— will be offered, and each group will be led by two pace boats.

Volunteers willing to give boat rides to veterans from the Wounded Warrior Project on Saturday during “Operation: Shore Fun” are still needed, according to NJPPC president Dave Patnaude.

“We are looking for boat owners to maybe donate one, two or three rides on Saturday afternoon to a Wounded Warrior,” said Patnaude. “We cannot think of a better way to say ‘Thank you’ to all of the amazing men and women who selflessly served our country overseas defending our country and our freedoms.”
