With three full days of competition in the Super Cat, Super Stock and Class 1 categories, the concurrent American Power Boat Association Offshore World Championships and finale of the Class 1 World Championship Series, November 6-13, in Key West, Fla., will not lack for offshore racing action. But the annual Key West Worlds, as they’ve come to be known, last for an entire week. That leaves plenty of time for folks in town, such as those who travel by boat to the city at the end of the road with the Florida Powerboat Club Key West Poker Run, to mingle and enjoy the endless diversions of go-fast boating’s most iconic destination.
To help them do just that, Larry Bleil and his team at Key West event-producer Race World Offshore, have set up a full roster of sponsor-backed parties for the week. Here’s a quick look at what’s on tap:
Sunday, November 6—Race World Offshore World’s Fastest Boat Parade starting at 4 p.m. followed by the RockHouse Live “Rock The Boat” Party, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., 135 Duval Street.
Monday, November 7—Race World Offshore Racers Smokin’ Tuna Saloon Welcome Party, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., 4 Charles Street, Duval Street 200 Block.

Thursday, November 10—The Ninth Annual Speed On The Water Key West Bash and Auction—presented this year by CMR Construction and Roofing—to Benefit Samuel’s House, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Sandbar Sports Grill, 511 Greene Street, and the Race World Offshore Reggae Concert (tickets required), starting at 5 p.m. at Truman Amphitheater, 35 East Quay Road.
Friday, November 11—Race World Offshore Duval and Greene Street Party, starting at 7 p.m.
Saturday, November 12—Boats And Boots Concert featuring Eddie Montgomery, Brian Kelley and John Daly at Truman Amphitheater (tickets required), starting at 5 p.m., 35 East Quay Road., and the Rick’s/Good Boy Vodka Party starting at 10 p.m., 202 Duval Street.
Sunday, November 13—Race World Offshore Concert, 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and RWO/APBA/Class 1 Awards presentation at Truman Amphitheater starting at 6 p.m., 35 East Quay Road.
“Having Good Boy Vodka, CMR, XINSURANCE and so many other sponsors involved—plus what Speed On The Water is doing with its annual bash on Thursday night—everyone wants to do something for the fans,” Bleil said. “So we are going to blow it out of the park with parties this year.”
Other than the concerts listed above, all events are free and open to the public.
Backed by CMR Roofing and Construction, Greg Harris Realty and Wozencraft Insurance Agency and hosted by the Sandbar, the ninth annual Speed On The Water Key West Bash will feature drinks specials, a free buffet and a live auction to benefit Samuel’s House.
