Race World Offshore Opens Online Registration For Teams

Starting today, offshore powerboat racing teams competing in Race World Offshore events will be able to completely register online. At they were last year, equipment fees will be waived for the two 2020 RWO events—September 25-27 in Clearwater, Fla., and November 8-15 in Key West, Fla.

Teams can either complete the entire process—including payment—online or download the forms, fill them out with a credit number included and return them via email to the RWO offices.  (Teams also can fax their completed forms with payment information to RWO at 704-896-2324.) All requisite forms must be received no less than 15 days prior to the event for planning purposes, which this year include social distancing measures in land-based functions such as drivers meetings and awards ceremonies.

“We have many teams who prefer downloadable documents so they can complete them in their own time with no stress,” said Rodrick Cox, the chief operating officer of Race World Offshore. “We also opened registration a little earlier this year than last year.”

The RWO online forms include RWO Membership Registration, Race Event Registration, Escape/ Exit Plan, Duval Street Party (Key West Only) and Location Assignment Form (Key West Only). Entry packets for Clearwater and Key West also have been uploaded to the site and can be download by interested teams.

“My phone has been ringing off the hook with questions from racers in multiple classes,” said Larry Bleil, the president and founder of Race World Offshore. “And we’ve also been really busy selling VIP spectator packages. In the event were are forced to cancel Key West, those packages are completely refundable except for the credit card transaction fees.”
