Marine Performance Media has acquired the assets and brand of Powerboatnation.com. according to a press release from the new owner. The website will be run and operated from Fort Lauderdale by Brad Schoenwald, a well-known expert high performance boat driver and safety expert in the high-performance powerboat industry. Marine Performance Media, a new web-based production company that delivers streaming video, Internet hosting, and marketing support, exclusively for the marine industry, will handle technical support for the site.
“With the recent purchase of the Performance Boats magazine online forums by a large advertising firm, the timing was right for the return of a online community run by real boaters,” said Schoenwald in the release. “For a long time I have wanted to do something to bring back the ‘love of the Sport,’ but the right opportunity didn’t present itself. Now, with the support of Marine Performance Media we have all we need to bring it back.”
The new Powerboatnation.com won’t just deliver a compelling new look and feel, according to the release. It has a new mission to the online community: Powerboatnation.com promises to give back to the members and vendors, and not just in the sense of creating an information-rich community. Through Powerboatnation.com, members will receive product discounts and incentives, and even the smallest vendors will receive highly visible and productive support.
“Powerboatnation.com is yours,” said Schoenwald. “We are going to give back, really give back, to our members and our industry. We will offer real value and excitement through our fresh and useful content, real-world boater community and incentives that will help you put and keep money in your pocket.”
PowerBoatNation.Com will have its official launch party at its exhibit and trailer in the Key West Poker Run Village during the Super Boat International Key West Offshore World Championships Nov. 4-11.
