In advance of today’s races at the Great Lakes Grand Prix in Michigan City, Ind., teams across multiple classes spent time yesterday on the water dialing in their boats. Of course, practice began after yesterday’s Class 2, 4, 5 and 7 contests, the preliminary results of which were reported on speedonthewater.com.

Speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden was on hand to shoot the practice sessions as well the racing action. Among the teams testing he captured were the Supercat-class AMH Motorsports and Pro Floors Racing, the Super Vee-class LSB/Hurricane of Awesomeness and Instigator By Knucklehead Racing outfits, Super Stock teams from FJ Propeller to Jackhammer—both 32-foot Victory cats built in Dubai and competing in their first stateside seasons—and the Class One 222 Offshore, Victory and Lucas Oil/SilverHook teams.
This weekend’s 11th annual Great Lake Grand Prix is the penultimate event in the six-race American Power Boat Association Offshore Championship Series produced by the Offshore Powerboat Association and Powerboat P1 organizations. Today’s live broadcast on the OPA Racing Facebook page begins at noon (CST) starting with the Pro Stock Vee and Super Vee Extreme classes, as well as the Class 1, 2, and 3 teams, according to the schedule on the OPA website.
