Friday’s Offshore Powerboat Association race in Manasquan, N.J., was the organization’s fourth contest of the season and reportedly produced some close competition, particularly near the end of the Class 4 battle. Veteran New Jersey-based offshore racing photographer Tim Sharkey was on hand to capture the action.
“What a battle in Class 4—three boats, running really tight, for the whole race,” said Sharkey. “Saris is running third. With two laps to go, they dive inside and pull off the win.”

Next up on the OPA schedule is the St. Clair River Classic July 24-26 in St. Clair, Mich. The race traditionally is one of the organization’s best-attended events of the season.
