Not only was the 2015 Jacksonville River Rally Charity Poker Run last weekend photographer Yvonne Aleman’s second time participating in the annual event on the St. Johns River in Northern Florida, it was her second photo essay assignment for speedonthewater.com. Aleman left her South Florida home for the run with two missions: 1) Have a good time. 2). Bring back a series of great photos that reflects her experience. Having spent a little time with Aleman and Greg Harris, her significant other and sometime photo assistant, we were confident she could accomplish both goals. And, of course, she did.

“This was only my second time in Jacksonville,” said Aleman, who rode in the famed Freedom US 1 46-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran owned by Jim Lee with the owner, her “bad-ass beautiful girl” Tristan Collins, Harris, Bermuda endurance-run record-holder Tyson Garvin, Dee O’Dell and Jeff Guthrie. “Not only did it remain my favorite event, but it was also hands-down my best boating weekend in three years of boating events.”

Looking through the slideshow above, we can see why.
