While yachts, cruisers and sportfishers always will command center stage the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the South Florida event has in recent years seen a significant surge in participation from performance-boat builders and dealers with center consoles in their line-ups. Go-fast boat-minded visitors to next week’s event, which runs Nov. 1-5, will have plenty to ogle at the docks from the likes of Cigarette Racing, Deep Impact (read Saturday’s speedonthewater.com story), Mystic Powerboats, MTI, Nor-Tech, Sunsation Boats and Wright Performance Powerboats. Here’s a quick look at what they’ll find.
Cigarette Racing Team
While Opa-locka, Fla.-based Cigarette isn’t exhibiting, per se, Performance Boat Center—the company’s dealer at the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri—is and will be showing off the first 41’ GTR Reserve Edition center console. It will be the first time the special-edition 41-footer has been exhibited at a boat show in the United States.
Marine Technology Inc.
MTI is bringing a trio MTI-V 42 performance center consoles to the Fort Lauderdale Show. As a sporty compliment to those 42-foot beauties, the Wentzville, Mo., also will exhibit its white-hot 340X sport catamaran.
Making its official debut in Fort Lauderdale, the first Mystic M3800 luxury center console powered by triple Mercury Marine Verado 350 outboard engines will be paired with an M4200 powered by quad Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboard engines.
