For the fifth year in a row, Performance Boat Center of Osage Beach, Mo., is stepping up to sponsor the annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Aug. 22-26, which is celebrating its 30th anniversay this year. According to Brett Manire, who co-owns the full-service powerboat dealership with Mark Waddington, the sponsorship deal was finalized this morning.

“Looking back at the things we done in the past, sponsoring the Shootout again, which is expensive, is a no-brainer,” said Manire. “It’s really good for businesses in the Lake of the Ozarks area, and it raises a lot of money for charity in the area.
“People I’ve never met, but with boats I’ve heard of, bring their boats here and know they’ll get great service and that we’ll take care of them,” he continued. “So course it’s good for our business. But I can’t tell you how many people I talk to around the country who tell me they know about the Shootout and how cool it is. It’s really put this area on the map, and we’re proud to support it.”
In addition to backing the event, Performance Boat Center will host its open-to-the-public party at its facility on Thursday evening. Complete with a fireworks display, the annual celebration attracts thousands of performance-boat enthusiasts, as well as high-performance marine industry notables, from around the country.
“The party is quite an ordeal to put on, but with everyone who comes here it has to be my most fun evening of the year,” said Manire.
