At a quick glance, IRON Boats models look like outboard engine-powered, rigid-hull inflatables with one key component—the inflatable collar—missing. Instead, the offerings from the Sweden-based builder have a mid-hull-mounted, bumper for protection at the docks or around the rocks. Think of it as jumbo rub rail and you’re on the right track.

The IRON Boats series includes models from 21 to 29 feet long.
Think of IRON Boats line as the latest brand offered by Performance Boat Center and you’re also on the right track. Headquartered at the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri, the multi-brand dealership plans to offer the IRON Boats series, which ranges from 21 to 29 feet long, out of its South Florida location as well as its Midwest home-base.
“They’re very good looking machines with affordable pricing,” said Brett Manire, who co-owns Performance Boat Center with Mark Waddington.
Known in Swedish boat-building circles as the “Iron Brothers,” Lars and Henrik Peterson founded the company in 2019. Their goal was to “create a new standard in stylish, functional and affordable day cruisers,” according to the company’s website.
So they tapped top talent for assistance, meaning the renowned Swedish Mannerfelt Design Team.
“The result was IRON, a sleek, versatile boat, built for adventure,” according to the company description on the website. “Their stealth-inspired design, superior functionality, and outstanding seaworthiness quickly gained recognition both in Sweden and internationally.”

The models are offered in a variety of configurations.
With locations in two powerboating hotbeds, Performance Boat Center is ideally positioned to represent the brand stateside. Waddington and Manire are excited to have something different, as well as affordable, to offer for the U.S. market.
“The prices will excite people, but they are neat boats, regardless,” Waddington explained. “We think a lot of our customers will like them as a second or third boat. And for new boaters, they are cost-effective starting point.”
