Performance Boat Center Spring Fun Run On Tap This Weekend

With 70-plus boats signed up as of yesterday evening and more on the way, there’s an excellent chance that Performance Boat Center’s Spring Fun Run will eclipse last year’s total of 96 registered boats. The annual Saturday happening is the event season-opener for the MTI, Performance Powerboats and Sunsation Powerboats dealer headquartered in Osage Beach, Mo., and it continues to thrive each year.

Registration is still open and will remain so until the Saturday morning drivers meeting in the Performance Boat Center showroom.

“We are slammed getting boats ready,” said Brett Manire, who co-owns the dealership with Mark Waddington. “We broke 70 boats yesterday but honestly I didn’t pay that much attention. We are busy with big projects and preparations.

“There’s a ton of fun run ‘teams’ walking around Performance Boat Center and the Redhead Lakeside Grill,” he added. “We’re going to have photographer Rob Rich shooting all day from a helicopter today, as usual.”

The Spring Fun Run will be the third Performance Boat Center-organized event to visit The Cave Bar and Grill.

Following the morning breakfast and drivers meeting, the fleet will head to The Cave Bar and Grill, a unique waterfront location at the Lake of the Ozarks that opened in early July 2022 just in time for the Performance Boat Center Outboard Fun Run later that month. The venue, which is owned by Waddington, stayed open long enough to host the dealership’s Fall Fun Run in mid-October before closing for the off-season.

From there the fleet will head to Bear Bottom Resort, a sprawling location loaded with swimming pools and water slides, before returning to Performance Boat Center and the Redhead Lakeside Grill for a post-event celebration.
