Though we’re not even out of January, there’s an excellent chance you’re already thinking about the 2023 go-fast boating season. There are hundreds of events to choose from between right now the end of the year, but precious few of them have opened registration. Of course, that makes sense given the work required, mostly on the part of volunteers in it for the satisfaction of producing memories and raising money for local charities. But if you’re a planner with a lifelong case of FOMO—guilty as charged here—you already want to get started on your 2023 boating schedule.

To that end, Performance Boat Center is taking a proactive approach to registration for its own events on the Lake Of The Ozarks. The full service Osage Beach, Mo., MTI, Performance Powerboats, Sunsation Boats and Velocity Powerboats dealership opened registration yesterday for its May 13 Spring Fun Run, June 15-16 Rendezvous and July 21 Outboard Fun Run.
Opening registration for those events—none of which include a sign-up fee—isn’t just good for would-be participants who like to plan far ahead. It’s good for the Performance Boat Center crew.
Opened last summer and owned by Mark Waddington, The Cave will be a regular stop for Performance Boat Center-produced events.
“Opening registration now helps me with ordering shirts and food,” explained Brett Manire, who co-owns Performance Boat Center with Mark Waddington. “The fun runs are free, but I like to have an idea of what to expect.”
The only longstanding Performance Boat Center 2023 event not yet open for registration? The dealership’s Fall Fun Run—but stay tuned.
