With the outboard engine power wave still sweeping the go-fast powerboat world—and showing no signs of slowing anytime soon—Performance Boat Center is capitalizing on the propulsion trend. On June 26, the Osage Beach, Mo.-based full-service dealership will host its first Outboard Fun Run. The event is exclusive to boats with Mercury Marine and Mercury Racing outboard power.
“With all the outboard power we’re installing on sport catamarans and center consoles these days, this was a natural for us,” said Brett Manire. “Mercury Racing are on board with us, and they will have the Mercury Racing mobile marketing vehicle on site for the event.

“We want this event to be as safe as humanly possible for everyone involved,” he continued. “To that end, we are going to provide co-branded Mercury Racing and Performance Boat Center masks and hand-sanitizer to all participants, and maintain all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 social distancing guidelines.”
In addition to its own Wright Performance brand of outboard-powered sport cats, Performance Boat Center carries Sunsation CCX center consoles, all of which are powered by Mercury Marine and Mercury Racing outboards. As a Cigarette Racing Team dealer, Performance Boat Center also does solid sales work with the Opa-Locka, Fla., company’s outboard-powered center consoles, as well as its stern-drive sportboats.
But the event is not exclusive to those powerboat lines.
“We are not limited to boat brand—all makes and models are welcome as long as they have Mercury Marine or Mercury Racing outboards,” said Manire. “It is almost June, and it’s time to go boating on the Lake of the Ozarks.”
