Despite that this is the “off season” for Central Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks area, Performance Boat Center in Osage Beach, Mo., is staying busy. In addition to exhibiting at the Overland Park Boat Show outside Kansas City last Thursday through Sunday and opening registration for the third annual Cigarette Owners Rendezvous June 16-18 yesterday, the full-service multi-brand new and pre-owned powerboat dealership is gearing up for the Miami International Boat Show Feb. 16-20.
With last weekend’s Overland Park Boat Show (above) behind them, members of the Performance Boat Center crew will head to the Miami International Boat Show with plenty to showcase.
“We’re going full force again this year,” said Brett Manire, who co-owns Performance Boat Center with Mark Waddington. “We will have Jason Taylor working the Princess Yachts booth. Cassie Ramaekers will be working a demo slip with a 2017 Sunsation 32 CCX performance center console. And Myrick Coil will be on hand at Skater Powerboats/Mercury Marine dock showcasing our in-stock 426 Skater catamaran and giving rides.”
As for Manire, he’ll mostly be found with Performance Boat Center’s Rusty Williams and Glenn Labor at the Cigarette Racing Team dock exhibit, which, in addition to the latest yet-to-be-disclosed Cigarette-Mercedes-AMG collaboration will include Bob Christie’s Cigarette 39’ GTS center console. The well-known New Jersey-based powerboat enthusiast ordered the 39-footer through Performance Boat Center.
“My focus will be managing all activity and helping out wherever I need to,” said Manire. “We built a Cigarette 42X with Mercury Racing 1100s for the show and we will have a six-seat Cigarette 41’ GTR in Miami for demo rides and for the Florida Powerboat Club’s Miami Boat Show Poker Run the following weekend. In short, we will have sales people in place at all our brands to help promote and make sales.”
