From the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout to Labor Day Weekend to last weekend’s Lake Cumberland Poker Run, the crew at Performance Boat Center in Osage Beach, Mo., has had its hands full for the past few weeks. But that isn’t stopping Brett Manire, Mark Waddington, Myrick coil and the rest of the PBC team from hosting their annual September Fun Run today, starting today at 9:30 a.m. with a light breakfast of coffee, juice and pastries at the facility. The boats will depart at 10:30 to 10:45 a.m. and gather together in the channel for a group photo—captured by a drone camera—before the run begins.
Hosted by Performance Boat Center, today’s Fun Run today on the Lake of the Ozarks will finish with a college tailgating-style meal.
“We probably have 30 to 35 boats and 100 to 125 people,” said Manire. “Bikefest 2017 is in town, so we’re going to head up to the Camden On The Lake Resort (the Bikefest 2017 host venue) so people can see it, and then head to Dog Days, which just finished its pool, and show them some support.
“From there we’ll come back to the Redhead Lakeside Grill restaurant at Performance Boat Center,” he continued. “We’re going to do something we’ve never done before—we’re having a shrimp, crab legs, sausage and potato boil, tailgating kind of stuff, so people can enjoy the food and watch football.”
Manire said that the new Wright Performance Powerboats 360 sport catamaran, as well as two Sunsation CCX center consoles, will be available for demo rides during the day.
“We have a weekend off after this one,” said Manire. “Then we head to the Super Boat International National Championships in Clearwater (Fla.)”
