On display during the Miami International Boat Show in February, the new Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats SL 41 V-bottom owned by Vinnie Diorio of Wisconsin has been getting dialed in this week by Dan Kleitz, the production manager of the Bristol, R.I., custom high-performance boat company. In testing earlier this week, Kleitz piloted the 41-footer, which is powered by twin Mercury Racing 700 SCi engines and boasts a stand-up cockpit and cabin, to 115 mph.
“It still has a couple more miles per hour in it,” said Kleitz. “The acceleration was nice and it handles really well—and it always runs level. The new bottom design is working.”

Kleitz said delivery of the boat to its owner is planned for the next two or three weeks. Between now and then, he may get the boat back on the water for more testing. But he’s pleased with its performance so far.
“Vinnie is ready to have the boat now,” Kleitz said. “The weather is nicer there than it is here. It’s still cold and windy and generally and crappy here.
